Digivacc Platform
The Background
UNICEF partnered with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Government of Japan in creating a platform to support healthcare goals and strengthen immunization programs nationwide. Digivacc was developed as a digital solution designed to modernize how vaccination data is recorded, accessed, and managed.
The Challenge
Fragmented and manual immunization systems created major gaps in healthcare delivery. Health workers relied on paper-based systems and handwritten records, such as printed vaccination cards and manual reporting. When workers lose track of the physical records, this leads to incomplete or delayed reports. Delayed reports result in missed or delayed immunizations.
Without real-time data, it was difficult to track coverage, identify underserved populations, and implement timely interventions, which put children at risk of vaccine-preventable diseases.
The Solution
We developed Digivacc, an interoperable digital immunization suite designed to centralize vaccination data across the Philippines.
There are two key platforms under Digivacc:
By enabling real-time data access, Digivacc improves overall visibility to immunization coverage and supports better coordination between healthcare workers and families.
Key Features
Digital Record Keeping
Replaced manual logbooks with secure and centralized data.
Real-Time Monitoring
Up-to-date insights on vaccination coverage and status.
Caregiver Access
Allows parents or caregivers to view and manage the vaccination history of their loved ones.
Data-Driven Records for Decision Making
Accurate reporting supports national and local health planning in line with FHSIS reporting tools.
Notifications
Sends timely in-app and SMS alerts for upcoming and missed vaccination schedules.

The Insights
Digivacc represents a major step towards modernizing the Philippines’ public health. By digitizing immunization records, it strengthens the ability of healthcare systems to deliver timely and efficient vaccination services. The platform not only improves operational efficiency for healthcare workers. It also empowers caregivers with access to health information.
Digitization improves efficiency. Digital tools centralize workflows, lessening delayed reporting and data errors.
Offline first capability is essential. Field healthcare workers need reliable tools that still function even in low-connectivity areas to ensure uninterrupted data records.
Data visibility drives action. Access to immunization records enables faster identification of missed vaccinations.
