Learning Management System
The Background
Based in Hawaii, Lean Six Sigma (GLSS) provides professional training programs focused on process improvement and operational excellence. As its global learner base continued to grow, it needed a more flexible platform to support its certification programs for digital learners.
To support its online learning initiative, GLSS utilized Litmos as its existing system for course delivery and learner management. As the organization continued to evolve, it aimed to transition into a fully customized Learning Management System that could better support its training programs, learner experience, and long-term platform goals.
The objective was to create a centralized learning platform where users could access courses, complete certifications, and monitor learning progress through a more tailored digital experience.
The Challenge
As GLSS expanded its digital training programs, its existing LMS setup struggled to support evolving operational and learning requirements. The platform offered limited flexibility in customizing the learning experience, managing content structures, and implementing more engaging training interactions.
Learner progress tracking and reporting also lacked the level of visibility needed by both administrations and organizations managing large teams. In addition, GLSS required a platform capable of supporting scalable course management while maintaining secure handling of user data and certification records.
The Solution
ThinkBIT Solutions developed a custom Learning Management System (LMS) tailored for GoLeanSixSigma’s certification program. The platform was designed to centralize learning operations while improving scalability, learner engagement, and administrative visibility.
The LMS serves as a hub where learners can access courses, complete certifications, track their progress, and participate in interactive learning activities at their own pace.
The system also includes administrative and reporting tools that provide organizations and instructors with real-time visibility into learner performance, certification progress, and course completion metrics.

The Insights
The GLSS platform demonstrates how migrating from a third-party LMS to a custom-built learning system can improve flexibility, learner engagement, and operational visibility. By centralizing training delivery and introducing interactive learning tools, the platform creates a more structured and scalable learning experience for both individual learners and organizations. The project also highlights the value of building LMS platforms tailored to evolving business and learning requirements instead of relying solely on off-the-shelf solutions.
Custom platform improves scalability and flexibility. Migrating to a tailored LMS enabled GLSS to implement learning features and workflows aligned with its operational needs and certification programs.
Interactive learning improves user engagement. Gamification, assessments, and self-paced modules helped create a more engaging digital learning experience.
Progress visibility drives better learning outcomes. Real-time tracking enables both learners and administrators to monitor performance and completion more effectively.
